This guy went out and produced an entirely new program to do the job and released it as freeware. In addition, many people claim the freeware is superior to the commercialware from Minolta.

Just got a DiMAGE A2 from ebay and it came with a genuine KM battery. Charged it fully and A2 came on fine. However after playing around for 5 mins and maybe 10 test shots, the battery warning indicator came on. Soon it just auto shut down completely. I thought it was just an old and bad battery. Tried recharging a few times more, same thing.
