That's making me think, that the new Canon 6d mark II has a problem with the old Tamron 24-70mm f 2.8. And the problem is in the software or something like that. 01-15-2017 10:19 PM. I assume that you're saying that the camera will not Auto Focus when you half press the shutter button. One reason for the behavior that you describe is if Back Button Focus has been enabled in the camera. Check to see if any of the buttons have been reprogrammed.
Then turn the focus ring and see if the AF Motor is working. This ONLY WORKS in One Shot AF. The electronic focus ring DOES NOT WORK in Servo AF. Manual Focus on Focus By Wire lenses require the AF Motor to move lens elements. Make sure Option 2 is set. Or the lens' electronic focus ring WILL NOT WORK with the lens set to AF Mode.
Jul 12, 2021. 1. Hi, The autofocus will not work whatever lens I attach to my 7D. On a 70-200mm I hear I whirring noise in the camera and a weak sounding of the lens focusing. The contacts are clean. I've reset all the camera settings. The firmware is up to date. I can manually shoot and the photos are fine.
