Controlsaside, though Ace Combat does feel a lot more smooth, you don't have to do that aerial drifting all over the place just to get a lock on. But the set pieces in Ace Combat really are top notch, it's set in an alternate slightly ahead of conventional tech, or a mixture of real licensed planes mixed in with monolithic carriers.
